Historical aircraft repainted at STTS Le Bourget

At our facility in Le Bourget we repainted the very first business twin-engine jet Dassault Mystery 20. After the restoration by IT Mercury and the repainting in the new base coat, clear coat system of PPG, the aircraft is exposed in the hall Concorde of the museum of the Air and the Space at Le Bourget.

The Mystery 20 is very known by the record established by Jacqueline Auriol on June 10, 1965. She beat the world record of closed circuit speed over 1000 km with a speed up to 860 km/h. This record was accomplished on the route Istres-Cazaux-Istres in less then one hour and ten minutes.

A400M painted for French Army

First aircraft painted at APC painting hangar

November 2012, the APC team welcomed the first aircraft in their newly built, dedicated painting hangar. This Boeing 737-700 was the first challenge for the completely new contracted painting team. This team is well educated and trained in the last few months. Most of these trainings were fulfilled in Europe at STTS France: “at the job training”.

During this first project the APC team was supported by painters of all sites of STTS: England, France, Germany, Spain and The Netherlands. This international team refinished the aircraft in 8 days to the Hainan livery.

APC is looking forward to the challenging business in the future.

Falcon 900 refinished in an overwhelming livery

Mica, chrome and flip-flop paint are the three characteristics of the impressive livery of the Falcon 900. QAPS NL worked three weeks long in close cooperation with paint supplier PSG/SW, maintenance company TAG Aviation and design company M&R Associates Design to accomplish this challenging mission.

The glossy end result, the sparkling metallic and the reflecting chrome became massively visible when the aircraft was outside standing on the platform.

The QAPS NL team was not only challenged by the livery but also by the paint system which they never applied on an aircraft before. Due to the support of the paint supplier and the experience of the QAPS NL team, the application of this paint system appeared to be perfectly manageable.

Contract STTS UK: Painting wings A330 & A350

STTS-UK have secured the contract to paint the long range wings for the A330 series and the new A350 generation aircraft. Full operations of this activity will start at December 22, 2012.

To guarantee the same level of delivery and quality, high qualified staff from the single aisle is promoted to lead the teams of the new production lines. These new teams were recruited and trained during the last 12 weeks. They have been trained through the single aisle process using an extensive programme designed by quality incorporating long range methods and processes via test panels product usage. For specific parts of the training STTS UK was supported by their colleagues from Hamburg, STTS GmbH.

STTS UK is full confident that they covered all areas to successfully start the activity and are looking forward to the new challenge.

APC painting hangar open!

September 17, 2012, APC has opened its new paintshop in Haikou, China. The hangar can fit single aisle aircraft in the range of A320/B737.

The Aicraft Painting Company (APC) is a joint venture between the STTS-Group and GCAT, Haenan Group.

On September 17, 2012, the opening of the APC painting hangar will take place in Haikou, China. The day after this opening, the first aicraft will enter the hangar. A Hainan Airlines aircraft will be completely rubbed down and repainted.

Start of sealing activity for A350 in Toulouse

3 Months ago STTS commenced the sealing activity in the A350 FAL. This brand new aircraft exists mainly of composite materials. Therefore STTS had to expand their knowledge and practice to work with this material and additional mandatory trainings was implemented.

Runway improvements for Amsterdam-Lelystad Airport

Especially on demand of some important customers of QAPS NL the runway accessibility will be improved at Amsterdam-Lelystad Airport. It will be finalized in November 2012 and will make it possible for any Regional or Business aircraft to operate from this field.

First Global & Falcon painted at QAPS NL

This summer QAPS NL was proud to welcome their first Global XRS & Falcon 900 for a complete repainting.

After being approved by Lufthansa Bombardier Aviation Services, QAPS NL received in July the first Global XRS for repainting. No decision was made regarding the decoration, therefore the aircraft was finished to a smooth, glossy white end result.

Just before the arrival of the Global XRS, QAPS NL had the possibility to repaint a Falcon 900 for a customer from the Middle East.
